Birkenstock is moving beyond sandals and stepping into the beauty space with the launch of its first nail polish collection. The German footwear brand, known for its comfort-led designs and loyal following, has introduced a compact edit of nail colours created to coordinate with its classic and seasonal sandal collections.
The launch marks a new chapter for the 250-year-old brand, which has seen strong commercial growth and increasing visibility within the luxury fashion world in recent years. Now, Birkenstock is extending its focus on foot care into beauty through its existing CARE ESSENTIALS line.
The new nail polish collection features five shades: Eggshell, Light Rose, Crocus, Surf Green and Red. Each colour has been designed to complement Birkenstock’s sandal offering, allowing customers to match their pedicure to their favourite pair of Arizona, Madrid or seasonal styles.
While the move into nail polish may seem unexpected for a footwear brand, it fits neatly within Birkenstock’s wider approach to foot wellness. The brand has long built its reputation around comfort, craftsmanship and conscious materials, from natural cork footbeds to leather uppers. That same thinking has been applied to its new beauty products.
The formulas are vegan, plant-based, and are created without a long list of commonly used ingredients found in traditional nail products. The collection includes natural components such as sugar beet and cane, while the bottles are made from 100 per cent recyclable glass. The packaging is minimalist and functional, in keeping with the brand’s understated design language.
Each nail polish also comes with a precision-designed brush, designed to ensure smooth, even application. Alongside the five shades, Birkenstock has launched a Top and Base Coat and a Nail Polish Remover, completing the foot-focused beauty edit.
All products are made in Europe, aligning with the brand’s commitment to quality and production standards.
