The UAE will enjoy a nine-day holiday for Eid Al Adha 2026.
You can start planning for your long weekend, as the UAE Eid Al Adha 2026 holiday dates have been announced.
Eid Al Adha falls on 10 Dhul Hijjah. While the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah moon is not expected till next week, the UAE has announced the holiday dates for the festive period. Eid Al Adha is expected to fall on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.
Much like last year, public sector employees are expected to be on an official break from 9 to 12 Dhul Hijjah. But with only one day of work between the weekend and the Arafat Day followed by Eid Al Adha, the UAE has announced a week-long break. This means from Monday, 25 May 2026 until Friday, 29 May 2026, you can relax, unwind and celebrate the Holy occasion with your loved ones. Combine these five days with the weekend before and after, and you get a nine-day-long holiday with work officially resuming on Monday, 1 June 2026. This will be the longest weekend you’ll get in the UAE this year, making this holiday the perfect opportunity to make some unforgettable memories with your family and friends. Maybe even plan a staycation.
For those wondering what Eid is all about, let us break it down for you. Eid Al Adha, also known as the festival of sacrifice in Islam, is a big deal for Muslims around the world. It falls on the tenth of Dhul Hijjah in the Islamic calendar. Not only does it mark the end of the Hajj pilgrimage, but it’s also a time for Muslims to come together and celebrate their faith and community.
Eid Al Adha begins with the sighting of the moon. The day will commence with prayers at the mosque, visits to family and friends, and of course, the exchange of gifts. But that’s not all. It’s a time to feast like there’s no tomorrow.
And like always, the UAE also has a ton in store for you, like a spectacular display of fireworks happening in multiple locations across the country. So, make sure to find the perfect spot for yourself.
Gear up for a grand celebration.
