Located on Shura Island, it includes 178 rooms and 32 suites.

The Red Sea in Saudi Arabia has welcomed big brands from around the world. Now, it is set to welcome the five-star hotel, InterContinental The Red Sea Resort. The development is one of 11 hotels on Shura Island. Scheduled to open in 2025, the property will feature 178 rooms and 32 suites.

InterContinental The Red Sea Resort will be located 23 kilometres from Red Sea International Airport. The hotel will be surrounded by natural lagoons and mangroves, which are inspired by local reefs. As part of InterContinental’s global collaboration with neuroscience-informed designer Isabelle Sjövall, guestrooms are shaped to restore and recharge, adapting seamlessly to the rhythm of the day. The architecture by Foster + Partners, paired with an interior concept by Kristina Zanic Consultants, layers minimalist elegance with a clear connection to nature.

Drawing on the intrigue of a contemporary maze, the design encourages exploration, reflection, and reconnection. Rooms and suites feature curved facades and open, fluid layouts that echo the surrounding landscape. Natural textures and handcrafted details add warmth and authenticity, while works by leading Saudi artists are woven throughout the resort in tribute to the Kingdom’s creative legacy.

All rooms will boast panoramic views of the sand, sea and sun. Guests will be able to admire the Insta-worthy sunsets. Each room features a walk-in shower, a bathtub with a view, and a 55-inch smart LED TV. Amenities also include Byredo Bal Dáfrique toiletries. Plus, the sustainable design elements include natural, low-carbon, solar hot water panels and natural ventilation.
