Mandai Wildlife Reserve is adding an immersive, indoor attraction to its nature story.

For a place that’s often described as a concrete jungle, Singapore has always taken its greenery seriously. Nearly half the island is covered in green areas, and its wildlife parks have long been a must-visit for families, first-timers and anyone craving a breather from the city’s gleaming skyline.

Now, Mandai Wildlife Reserve is expanding the way visitors engage with nature. Already home to the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders and Bird Paradise, the precinct is welcoming Exploria, a large-scale indoor immersive attraction designed to make wildlife feel closer than ever.

Unlike Mandai’s outdoor parks, where you observe animals in carefully recreated habitats, Exploria puts you inside the story. Think interactive digital environments that surround you with movement, sound and shifting landscapes, creating a more playful, tech-led take on the natural world.

The journey begins in a central hub called Our Interconnected World. Here, a glowing four-metre LED globe known as the Biopool pulses like a living heartbeat. Every two hours, The Planet Awakens takes over with a light-and-sound sequence that transforms the entire zone into a cinematic spectacle before guiding you onwards.

From there, you can explore five distinct worlds. Realm of the Giants rewinds the clock by millions of years, with prehistoric creatures brought to life through soundscapes and AR screens. The signature moment is The Giants Show, an eight-minute, 360-degree experience that places you on a platform as ancient titans rise, roam and ultimately vanish.

Next, Micro Worlds zooms in on life you normally miss, magnifying organisms like plankton and bees to astonishing scale. It is part science, part sensory fun, and it makes the tiniest ecosystems feel monumental.

In Bitdeer AI Extreme Frontiers, the experience becomes physical. Four environmental simulators transport you through a desert, an Arctic landscape, a high-altitude alpine zone and an urban ecosystem, highlighting the creatures built to survive in harsh conditions.

Infinite Wonderland delivers a vertical journey from rainforest canopy to ocean floor, moving through camouflaged species and a kaleidoscopic cave that slips into an underwater realm. Finally, World of Darkness explores environments where light barely exists, from bat-filled caves and blind cavefish to deep-sea scenes featuring bioluminescent jellyfish and sharks.

Exploria is a fresh way to experience wildlife in Singapore, especially when the weather turns. For visitors, it adds a new indoor highlight to the itinerary. For locals, it is a timely reminder of how closely connected we are to the natural world.
