The tennis championship returns to Abu Dhabi in February.

The WTA 500 tournament showcases the participation of the world’s top female players during nine days of thrilling action and entertainment. Recognised as one of the premier women’s tournaments on the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour, this event will bring together some of the most exceptional talents in women’s tennis.
Set against the backdrop of Zayed Sports City, the third edition of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open promises to be a spectacular showcase featuring 28 singles players and 16 doubles teams. This unmissable moment on the 2025 tennis calendar will undoubtedly present fans with the opportunity to witness the prowess of the world’s greatest women’s tennis athletes on an iconic stage.
Reigning champion Elena Rybakina will defend her title at the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open. Fully recovered after battling illness and injury late last season, the 25-year-old Kazakh is ready to reclaim her dominance on the court. Rybakina, currently ranked world No. 6, will be joined by the world No. 9 Daria Kasatkina, who is determined to turn the tables after her loss in last year’s final.
Also returning are Belinda Bencic, the 2023 champion, and Ons Jabeur, who will be participating in the tournament after months of recovery from a shoulder injury that kept her off the court for half of 2024. The sports star, who hails from Tunisia, is one of the most loved figures in the world of tennis. She has made history as the first Arab woman to reach the finals of a Grand Slam, achieving runner-up status at Wimbledon in 2023 and the US Open in 2022. She currently has five WTA singles titles to her name and is also ranked no. 2 on WTA.
