The tournament is one of the most celebrated in the world of football.
Sports are a huge part of life in the UAE, and football in particular holds a special place in the region. The Manchester City Abu Dhabi Cup stands out as a highlight among the numerous sporting events, drawing teams from around the globe to the capital. And now it’s making a bigger return to Abu Dhabi.
Since its inception in 2017, the terrific tournament has grown immensely, becoming a must-attend event for young footballers worldwide. Following a record-breaking 2025 edition, it’s set to return in 2026, but this time, it will extend to a three-day event.

Taking place from 13 to 15 February 2026 at the Zayed Sports City, the Manchester City Abu Dhabi Cup will bring more teams to the ground. It also aims to provide players with additional time on the pitch, enhancing the overall experience for all. A massive opening ceremony and an upgraded City Village are in the works to elevate the experience as well.
The 2025 edition of the Manchester City Abu Dhabi Cup saw over 2,500 players competing in nearly 650 matches across various age groups. Teams from 22 nations participated, attracting more than 6000. Now, registrations for the 2026 tournament are open. Given the high demand and limited spaces, teams are encouraged to secure their spots.

For those unversed, the Manchester City Abu Dhabi Cup offers young footballers a platform to showcase their talents. Each year, the winners of the tournament enter a special prize draw, with one lucky team earning a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Manchester. This trip includes training at the City Football Academy.
The 2026 edition of the superb sporting event promises to be the most exciting yet. And we can’t wait to see what these young guns have in store.
