The House of India project will help strengthen the UAE–India relationship.

Abu Dhabi is adding another cultural attraction to its roster, this time centred on India. The House of India is set to open in the capital, showcasing the ever-growing and vital relationship between the UAE and India.

Specific details, including the opening date, exact location and architectural design, have yet to be revealed, but the project is expected to become a major cultural destination in the capital.

The new cultural centre was officially announced as part of a joint UAE–India statement during the state visit of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to India. It will serve as a permanent symbol of the partnership between the two countries.

The House of India will be a dedicated cultural centre, featuring an additional museum that celebrates India’s history and heritage. It is intended to be more than a traditional gallery space, also providing areas for art, history, cultural exchange and creative collaboration.

The announcement follows extensive discussions between leaders of India and the UAE on creating new frameworks to support creative start-ups, business-to-business collaborations and increased bilateral partnership, paving the way for the House of India concept.

The Indian diaspora is one of the largest in the UAE, with millions of Indian residents contributing to the country’s cultural landscape. The creation of the House of India highlights this meaningful connection and establishes a dedicated space for dialogue, education and celebration.
