Yas Waterworld promises 11 new slides and attractions.

Big news for thrill-seekers: Yas Waterworld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi is about to get even bigger, better, and wetter. The popular Yas Island waterpark is expanding, promising more slides, more splashes, and a whole new level of excitement from Saturday, 4 April 2026.

Miral, the powerhouse developer behind Yas Island’s immersive attractions, has revealed that the much-loved waterpark is about to level up. The waterpark will continue its Lost City theme, based on The Legend of the Lost Pearl, which includes eight new slides, two jumping platforms, and a relaxing pool area.

One of the main highlights is Matamir’s Drop, which will be the tallest waterslide in the UAE. It starts with a steep drop from over 40 meters, followed by a fast 233-meter ride. Another exciting ride is the Sahel Matamir, which will send you through quick bursts of speed and moments that feel like zero gravity. Elsewhere, Matamir Loop is a fast body slide for quick fun, while Matamir Twist – Matamir Lights brings colourful lighting effects, and Matamir Splash you race with your friends, side-by-side on a mat.

The expansion also brings Sarab, a large pool area where families can relax and cool off, while Al Afda offers a chance to jump from a platform into the water below.

Last year, Yas Waterworld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi added 20 new rides and slides, plus new dining options to its already impressive lineup. Designed for guests of all ages, it offered more from the waterpark. Young thrill-seekers enjoyed the Al Sahel Junior, the region’s first mini zero-gravity boomerango, featuring dramatic drops, twisting slides, and vertical zooms. Other highlights included Dawwama Junior, a pint-sized version of the park’s iconic tornado ride, and Rimal Racer, where little ones can race side-by-side for maximum splash factor.
