The Parisian restaurant makes its debut in the Middle East.
A touch of Paris has come to Dubai. Frou Frou has officially opened its doors at The Lana Promenade by Dorchester Collection. Developed by Bulldozer Group, this restaurant transports diners to the golden era of Paris’ Belle Époque, evoking the bohemian and carefree spirit of turn-of-the-century France.
Frou Frou Dubai aims to bring the joie de vivre of Paris in the early 20th century to the Middle East. The name “Frou Frou” is inspired by the rustling silk of ladies’ skirts, reminiscent of France’s famous Can-can dance. This essence is woven into every element of the restaurant, from its stylish interiors to its culinary offerings. This marks the third opening of the brand, and another is set to open soon in Marbella, Spain.
The restaurant’s interiors pay homage to the tactile allure of its namesake, with ruffled textures, sumptuous fabrics, and a palette of soft terracotta, earthy tones, greenery, and gold. Statement artwork captures the festive spirit of Paris, while an open-air terrace overlooking the Business Bay Canal and Burj Khalifa is perfect for al fresco dining.
Frou Frou Dubai prides itself on offering a vanguardist take on French classics. Chef Leonid Ivanov’s menu celebrates the indulgence and sophistication of early 20th-century Paris. Starters include timeless French dishes such as Salade Niçoise, Tartare de Veau, Soupe à l’Oignon with Gruyère cheese, and Escargots de Bourgogne, elevated with foie gras and hazelnuts.
The main courses draw inspiration from the Mediterranean, featuring fresh pasta and classic French dishes. Standouts include Langoustines Grillées, Rouget Entier (whole red mullet), and Paccheri à la Truffe. Desserts bring the meal to a sweet close with French classics such as Crème Brûlée à la Passion and Soufflé à la Banane. Cheese lovers will appreciate the extensive fromage menu, offering a curated selection of premium cheeses.
Frou Frou’s wine list features selections from Burgundy, Bordeaux, Rhône, and Loire, highlighting the terroirs of these storied regions. The collection includes iconic vintages and vertical listings, complemented by an extensive Champagne selection.
The Lana – Dorchester Collection is home to several dining concepts, four of which were created by three celebrated chefs. Jean Imbert is behind the modern Mediterranean restaurant Riviera, Martín Berasategui is behind the Basque restaurant Jara, and Angelo Musa is behind the Parisian restaurant Bonbon Café. The Lana Promenade will also be home to China Tang from The Dorchester in London and Dragonfly, a Pan Asian restaurant from MICHELIN Guide-selected chef Reif Othman.
