From shawarma to Chips Oman, the FACT award-winning chef’s table reimagines Dubai’s flavours through a new tasting menu.

Dubai’s dining scene continues to find inspiration in the city’s streets, souks and late-night cafeterias. Now, Moonrise is turning that everyday energy into a new chef’s table experience. The FACT award-winning rooftop restaurant at Eden House in Al Satwa has launched a six-course Moonrise tasting menu inspired by the street food culture of Dubai.

Available from 6 May 2026, the new Moonrise Dubai street food tasting menu celebrates the flavours that have shaped daily dining across the emirate. Rather than turning familiar dishes into something distant from their roots, the restaurant takes a more thoughtful route. The menu looks at the snacks, sandwiches, spices and rituals that many residents know well, then presents them through the lens of contemporary technique.

The six-course journey draws on some of Dubai’s most recognisable street food staples, from shawarma and Malabar paratha to Chips Oman and karak. These are flavours tied to cafeteria counters, roadside stops and neighbourhood eateries, but at Moonrise, they are reworked into a format that feels right at home within the restaurant’s intimate rooftop setting.

Each course of the Moonrise Dubai street food tasting menu is served with a printed card explaining the inspiration behind the dish. The cards also point guests towards places across Dubai where they can try the original versions, creating a link between the chef’s table and the independent cafés, small vendors and long-standing eateries that helped shape the menu.

Chef Solemann Haddad’s own story gives the menu further weight. Born and raised in Dubai, the self-taught chef has become one of the city’s most compelling homegrown culinary voices, shaping Moonrise around memory, multicultural influences and the flavours that define life in the emirate. His rise has been swift. Haddad received the MICHELIN Young Chef Award in Dubai in 2022, before Moonrise earned a MICHELIN star in 2023.
